Coastal Waves Wallpaper: Hand-Drawn Ocean Design

Coastal Waves Wallpaper

There is something quietly grounding about water drawn as pattern. This coastal waves wallpaper takes the rhythm of the sea, the roll and pull of it, and slows it right down into clean, gentle lines that move across the wall without ever feeling busy. It is coastal without the clichés. No shells, no anchors, no rope borders. Just the shape of water, drawn by hand.

Each wave is hand-drawn, so the curves have a softness and a slight irregularity that machine-made prints flatten out. That is what gives this coastal waves wallpaper its warmth, a waves pattern that feels calm and organic up close, and settled from across the room.

Where this wallpaper works

This is a coastal waves wallpaper built for the spaces you want to feel calm in. It is a natural fit for a beach house or lake house, where the seaside feel belongs, and it works just as well bringing a touch of that relaxed, by-the-water look to an ordinary suburban room. Use it as a full room wrap or a single feature wall.

It comes into its own in a bathroom, where the gentle wave pattern gives that cool, pool-like, just-stepped-out-of-the-water feel. It is equally at home in a calm, light-filled bedroom, a living room, or a dining room. The pattern reads well at any scale, whether you want a bold statement wall or a quieter backdrop.

Colourways

Choose from four colourways, each with its own feel:

Light Blue

A soft, airy blue that sits somewhere between sky and sea. Suits coastal grandma, Hamptons-style, and modern interiors without leaning too heavily into nautical.

Light Green

Cool and considered. A muted green-blue that brings a gentle freshness to a room. Works well in Japandi, Scandi, and contemporary spaces.

Sandy Beige

Warm and understated. A neutral, sandy tone with a quiet coastal grandma charm. At home in farmhouse, quiet luxury, and relaxed contemporary interiors.

Navy Blue

Deep, confident, and full of presence. This is the colourway that leans nautical, a strong choice for a statement wall or a bold room wrap. Suits maritime, maximalist, and classic interiors alike.

This coastal waves wallpaper is available in peel and stick (removable), traditional (non-pasted), and pre-pasted. All printed to order on quality wallpaper using eco-friendly materials. The peel and stick option suits renters and anyone after a coastal look without the commitment.

Colour tweaks are often possible. If you'd like to adjust a tone to suit your space, just ask.

Wallpaper Types

Peel & Stick

No paste, no fuss. Made from 100% woven polyester fabric at 275gsm (370gsm including the peel-off liner), it has a soft, fabric-like feel and a matte woven texture. Self-adhesive, repositionable for up to 24 hours after hanging, and removes cleanly in one piece.

A good choice for renters, first-timers, and anyone who wants flexibility without sacrificing finish. Works in bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.

PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Traditional (Non-Pasted)

The classic option for a long-lasting, permanent finish. Non-woven fabric at 190gsm with a smooth matte surface. Apply paste to the wall, hang the panel, trim if needed.

A good choice for full room makeovers and anyone wanting a finish that's built to stay. Best on smooth, dry walls. Not recommended for bathrooms or humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.

PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Pre-Pasted

The middle ground between traditional and peel and stick. You get a permanent finish without the paste. The adhesive is already on the paper, activated with a damp roller or sponge.

At 300gsm it has a fine embossed texture and a premium matte feel. Repositionable while the adhesive is still wet, and suitable for bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.

PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Measure your walls carefully

Colours and pattern flow depend on getting this right, so it's worth taking your time.

• Measure height from skirting board to ceiling, or wherever you want the wallpaper to end.
• Measure the width of each wall you plan to cover.
• Use the tallest height measurement across the whole project.
• Include doors, windows, and architectural features so the pattern runs correctly around them.
• Take several measurements along each wall. Ceilings and floors are often uneven.

Read the full guide here.

Order the right amount

• Multiply your wall area by the coverage per roll to estimate how many you need.
• Choose one roll size and stick with it throughout the project for consistent pattern matching.
• Round up and order all rolls at once. Same batch means the closest colour match across panels.
• Not sure? Just message me and I'll help you work it out.

Order a sample first

Screens and room lighting both affect how colours read. A sample is the simplest way to check colour, scale, and finish in your own space before committing.

Colour customisation

If the design is almost right but the colour isn't quite there, just ask. I can adjust the palette to match your paint colour, existing décor, or anything else you're working with.

Pattern scale

I can also adjust the scale of a pattern to suit your space, larger, smaller, or as shown. For more significant design edits, a small design fee may apply, but I'll always be upfront about that before anything is confirmed.

Either way, you'll receive a digital preview to approve before your order is placed. No surprises.

How to request

Use the customisation request form to send me your colour or scale preferences. I'll come back to you with a preview and confirm any costs if relevant. Once you're happy, we'll get your order processed.
