Japandi wallpaper is a quieter way of decorating, less about making a statement, more about getting the feeling of a room right. This collection brings together designs that sit within that philosophy: botanical patterns, inked leaf designs, textural effects, bamboo stripes and muted florals that work with natural light rather than against it.
The look draws from both Japanese and Scandinavian traditions, the wabi-sabi appreciation for imperfection and natural materials on one side, the Nordic instinct for simplicity and calm on the other. Nothing loud. Nothing that will date in two years.
Where Japandi wallpaper works
Japandi wallpaper suits the rooms where the aim is to slow things down: bedrooms, living rooms and home offices especially. Most designs work equally well as a full room wrap or a single feature wall, though a full wrap tends to deliver more of the immersive calm the look is known for. Several designs carry a soft textural quality, that tactile, natural-material feel without the upkeep of the real thing, which is part of why japandi wallpaper has become such a favourite for considered, pared-back minimal spaces.
Colours, muted and natural
Colour is where japandi wallpaper earns its calm. The range runs to muted greens, warm neutrals, soft greys and the occasional restrained line of ink, tones that work with the light in a room rather than competing with it. If you've a particular shade in mind, every design can be recoloured for free; send me your paint code and I'll adjust the artwork to match your room before it prints.
Made to order
Every japandi wallpaper design is available in three substrates, so you can choose what suits your walls and how long the paper needs to stay up. Peel and stick is the easy, renter-friendly option that installs and removes cleanly. Traditional non-pasted is the longer-term choice. Pre-pasted sits between the two and has a subtle textural feel to it, which suits the tactile, natural quality japandi leans into. All patterns are original artwork, drawn by hand by Sara at Summer Skye Studio, printed to order on quality paper using eco-friendly materials.
Unsure which design suits your space? Order a sample first. In muted palettes especially, natural light changes everything.
