The Practical Bits
School of Fish Wallpaper
A whole shoal drifting across the wall, drawn by hand and never quite swimming in a straight line. This school of fish wallpaper has a loose, sketchy charm that feels more like a page from a sketchbook than a printed mural, big and bold and gently chaotic, bringing movement to a wall without any fuss.
Every fish is drawn by hand, so no two are quite the same. Some are striped, some patterned, some little more than a quick flick of the pen, and it's that variety that gives this school of fish wallpaper its character up close. Printed at a large, statement scale, the fish read clearly across the room rather than blurring into texture.
Where this school of fish wallpaper works
The whimsical style makes this an easy choice for children's rooms, playrooms and nurseries, but it's far too characterful to shut away with the toys. A hand-drawn shoal works just as happily in a downstairs loo, a bathroom, or a coastal-leaning kitchen, anywhere you want a bit of gentle wit on the wall. Because it's illustrated rather than photorealistic, it settles softly into a room instead of demanding to be the view.
At this large scale it makes a proper statement, so a single feature wall is often enough, behind a bed, along a landing, or on the wall you see first walking in. Go for a full wrap in a smaller room like a cloakroom or a nursery where you want the pattern to surround you. The nautical, coastal feel is there if you want it, but the loose hand-drawn line keeps this school of fish wallpaper playful rather than themed.
Colourways
Choose from four colourways, each with its own feel:
Soft Multicolour
A gentle mix of blue, green, mustard and grey fish scattered across a warm cream ground. The most versatile of the four and the easiest to build a room around, at home in a family bathroom, a playroom, or a bright coastal kitchen.
Dusty Blue
Crisp white fish on a soft, chalky blue. The most coastal of the four, calm and airy, and a natural fit for a bathroom, a child's room, or a seaside-leaning hallway.
Sage Green
White fish on a muted, grounded sage. Restful and gender-neutral, easy to live with in a nursery, a bedroom, or a calm downstairs loo.
Blush Pink
White fish on a dusty, soft pink. The gentlest of the four, warm without being sweet, and lovely in a nursery, a child's bedroom, or a playful cloakroom.
This school of fish wallpaper is available in peel and stick, traditional non-pasted, and pre-pasted. All printed to order on PVC-free paper.
If you'd like the shoal in a different tone to suit your room, every design can be recoloured for free. Send me your paint code and I'll adjust the artwork to match your room before it prints.
Every design at Summer Skye Studio is drawn and developed by me, Sara. Original artwork, and all patterns are copyright Summer Skye Studio.

Wallpaper Types
Peel & Stick
No paste, no fuss. Made from 100% woven polyester fabric at 275gsm (370gsm including the peel-off liner), it has a soft, fabric-like feel and a matte woven texture. Self-adhesive, repositionable for up to 24 hours after hanging, and removes cleanly in one piece.
A good choice for renters, first-timers, and anyone who wants flexibility without sacrificing finish. Works in bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.
PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.
Traditional (Non-Pasted)
The classic option for a long-lasting, permanent finish. Non-woven fabric at 190gsm with a smooth matte surface. Apply paste to the wall, hang the panel, trim if needed.
A good choice for full room makeovers and anyone wanting a finish that's built to stay. Best on smooth, dry walls. Not recommended for bathrooms or humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.
PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.
Pre-Pasted
The middle ground between traditional and peel and stick. You get a permanent finish without the paste. The adhesive is already on the paper, activated with a damp roller or sponge.
At 300gsm it has a fine embossed texture and a premium matte feel. Repositionable while the adhesive is still wet, and suitable for bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.
PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Measure your walls carefully
Colours and pattern flow depend on getting this right, so it's worth taking your time.
- Measure height from skirting board to ceiling, or wherever you want the wallpaper to end.
- Measure the width of each wall you plan to cover.
- Use the tallest height measurement across the whole project.
- Include doors, windows, and architectural features so the pattern runs correctly around them.
- Take several measurements along each wall. Ceilings and floors are often uneven.
Read the full guide here.
Order the right amount
- Multiply your wall area by the coverage per roll to estimate how many you need.
- Choose one roll size and stick with it throughout the project for consistent pattern matching.
- Round up and order all rolls at once. Same batch means the closest colour match across panels.
- Not sure? Just message me and I'll help you work it out.
Order a sample first
Screens and room lighting both affect how colours read. A sample is the simplest way to check colour, scale, and finish in your own space before committing.
Colour customisation
If the design is almost right but the colour isn't quite there, just ask. I can adjust the palette to match your paint colour, existing décor, or anything else you're working with.
Pattern scale
I can also adjust the scale of a pattern to suit your space, larger, smaller, or as shown. For more significant design edits, a small design fee may apply, but I'll always be upfront about that before anything is confirmed.
Either way, you'll receive a digital preview to approve before your order is placed. No surprises.
How to request
Use the customisation request form to send me your colour or scale preferences. I'll come back to you with a preview and confirm any costs if relevant. Once you're happy, we'll get your order processed.
