The Practical Bits
Heritage Plaid Wallpaper
This heritage plaid wallpaper has all the cosy, traditional character of a classic checked plaid, the kind you would find on a wool blanket or a country throw. It is woven through with a soft, woollen texture and brought to life in modern colours, so it feels warm and familiar, and fresh at the same time.
The lines are drawn with a woven, tweedy texture, so the check reads like a length of real cloth with the depth of woven wool. That fabric quality is what gives this heritage plaid wallpaper its warmth on the wall, a proper heritage check brought up to date in fresh, modern colours.
Where this heritage plaid wallpaper works
The heritage plaid wallpaper earns its place in rooms you want to feel warm and grounded. It is a natural fit for a country, cottage or farmhouse scheme, a study, a snug, a hallway or a bedroom, and it holds a feature wall as happily as it wraps a whole room. The large check gives a plain space real structure without shouting.
How it feels depends entirely on the colour. In the navy, brown and beige it reads classic and traditional, all wool-blanket warmth; in the plum, olive green and champagne it turns contemporary and characterful, a heritage check for a more modern room. Same pattern, two very different rooms.
Colourways
Choose from six colourways, each with its own feel:
Navy
A deep navy ground with mustard and cream lines. The most classic of the six, smart and characterful, at home in a study, hallway or a traditional country scheme.
Brown
A rich, dark brown ground with warm orange lines. Proper wool-blanket warmth, made for a snug, a farmhouse kitchen or a cosy study.
Beige
A soft beige ground with green and black lines. The most neutral and flexible of the six, easy in a living room, landing or hallway in almost any style.
Champagne
A warm champagne ground with green and plum lines. Gentle and tweedy, lovely in a bedroom, living room or a soft, layered scheme.
Olive Green
A deep olive green ground with plum and mustard lines. Earthy and confident, at home in a study, dining room or a modern country space.
Plum
A bold plum ground with green lines. The most contemporary and on-trend of the six, striking on a dining room or bedroom feature wall.
This heritage plaid wallpaper is available in peel and stick, traditional non-pasted, and pre-pasted. All printed to order on PVC-free paper with GreenGuard-certified inks.
If you would like the check in a different tone to suit your space, every design can be recoloured for free. Send me your paint code and I will match the artwork to your room before it prints. Scaling can be adjusted too, just ask.
Every design at Summer Skye Studio is drawn and developed by me, Sara. Original artwork, and all patterns are copyright Summer Skye Studio.

Wallpaper Types
Peel & Stick
No paste, no fuss. Made from 100% woven polyester fabric at 275gsm (370gsm including the peel-off liner), it has a soft, fabric-like feel and a matte woven texture. Self-adhesive, repositionable for up to 24 hours after hanging, and removes cleanly in one piece.
A good choice for renters, first-timers, and anyone who wants flexibility without sacrificing finish. Works in bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.
PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.
Traditional (Non-Pasted)
The classic option for a long-lasting, permanent finish. Non-woven fabric at 190gsm with a smooth matte surface. Apply paste to the wall, hang the panel, trim if needed.
A good choice for full room makeovers and anyone wanting a finish that's built to stay. Best on smooth, dry walls. Not recommended for bathrooms or humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.
PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.
Pre-Pasted
The middle ground between traditional and peel and stick. You get a permanent finish without the paste. The adhesive is already on the paper, activated with a damp roller or sponge.
At 300gsm it has a fine embossed texture and a premium matte feel. Repositionable while the adhesive is still wet, and suitable for bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.
PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Measure your walls carefully
Colours and pattern flow depend on getting this right, so it's worth taking your time.
- Measure height from skirting board to ceiling, or wherever you want the wallpaper to end.
- Measure the width of each wall you plan to cover.
- Use the tallest height measurement across the whole project.
- Include doors, windows, and architectural features so the pattern runs correctly around them.
- Take several measurements along each wall. Ceilings and floors are often uneven.
Read the full guide here.
Order the right amount
- Multiply your wall area by the coverage per roll to estimate how many you need.
- Choose one roll size and stick with it throughout the project for consistent pattern matching.
- Round up and order all rolls at once. Same batch means the closest colour match across panels.
- Not sure? Just message me and I'll help you work it out.
Order a sample first
Screens and room lighting both affect how colours read. A sample is the simplest way to check colour, scale, and finish in your own space before committing.
Colour customisation
If the design is almost right but the colour isn't quite there, just ask. I can adjust the palette to match your paint colour, existing décor, or anything else you're working with.
Pattern scale
I can also adjust the scale of a pattern to suit your space, larger, smaller, or as shown. For more significant design edits, a small design fee may apply, but I'll always be upfront about that before anything is confirmed.
Either way, you'll receive a digital preview to approve before your order is placed. No surprises.
How to request
Use the customisation request form to send me your colour or scale preferences. I'll come back to you with a preview and confirm any costs if relevant. Once you're happy, we'll get your order processed.
