Polka Dot Wallpaper | Classic Spotty Design on a Linen Texture

Polka Dot Wallpaper

Spots earned their keep on fabric long before they arrived on walls. Ties, tea dresses, tablecloths, the polka dot has been a wardrobe and cupboard staple for the best part of a century. Spotty wallpaper, dotty wallpaper, call it what you like, it is that same classic pattern brought onto the wall. This polka dot wallpaper keeps the spot small and evenly spaced, so it reads as a gentle rhythm across the room.

The dots sit on a woven linen ground, softly slubbed and flecked. That texture gives this polka dot wallpaper depth, so it holds the light the way a fabric would. From across a room it reads almost as a textured plain. Up close the weave and the speckle come forward, and you notice the dots are sitting on something with a bit of life in it.

Where this polka dot wallpaper works

Nurseries are where this one gets used most. The dots are small and the contrast is soft, so a baby's room gets pattern that still feels restful, and it takes a whole room comfortably, all four walls if you want. It carries on working as the room grows up, which is the useful bit. In a child's bedroom it sits happily behind a bed or wraps the lot, and there's room for shelves, artwork and a busy rug on top of it. There are more designs like it in the nursery wallpaper collection.

Beyond kids' rooms, the small scale earns this polka dot wallpaper a place anywhere you want pattern that behaves. A downstairs loo is the obvious one: a small room can take a full wrap of spots and still feel considered. Hallways, boot rooms and utility spaces suit it for the same reason. In the darker colourways it turns into something else entirely, a moody backdrop for a teen's room or a study, where the cream dots lift a near-black wall and keep it light on its feet. It sits alongside the rest of the geometric wallpaper designs in the studio.

Colourways

Nine colourways, each with its own feel:

Rose Pink

A soft, dusty pink, warm and a little muted. The one most people picture in a nursery, and it holds up just as well in a bedroom or a small cloakroom.

Denim Blue

A washed, mid-tone blue with a workwear feel. At home in a nursery or a child's bedroom, and steady enough for a hallway or a kitchen.

Charcoal Black

A near-black ground with cream dots lifting it. Suits a teen's room, a study or a snug, and it's the pick for a monochrome scheme.

Slate Grey

A cool, mid grey that keeps things quiet. A good neutral for a shared family space, a landing or a home office.

Terracotta Orange

A warm, earthy orange with a lot of depth to it. Suits a boho or Mediterranean scheme, and gives a dining room or hallway some colour.

Ochre Yellow

A muted, mustard-leaning yellow with a retro edge. At home in a kitchen, a snug or a living room.

Olive Green

A soft, grey-green with a calm, grounded presence. Suits Japandi and Scandi rooms, and makes a gentle gender-neutral nursery.

Espresso Brown

A deep, warm brown that grounds a room. Good in a study, a dining room or a bedroom where you want something enveloping.

Deep Plum Purple

A rich, wine-toned purple with real depth. Suits a bedroom, a dining room or a snug, and it's the boldest of the nine.

This polka dot wallpaper is available in peel and stick, traditional non-pasted, and pre-pasted. All printed to order on PVC-free paper.

If none of the nine is quite right for your room, every design can be recoloured for free. Send me your paint code and I'll adjust the artwork to match your room before it prints.

Wallpaper Types

Peel & Stick

No paste, no fuss. Made from 100% woven polyester fabric at 275gsm (370gsm including the peel-off liner), it has a soft, fabric-like feel and a matte woven texture. Self-adhesive, repositionable for up to 24 hours after hanging, and removes cleanly in one piece.

A good choice for renters, first-timers, and anyone who wants flexibility without sacrificing finish. Works in bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.

PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Traditional (Non-Pasted)

The classic option for a long-lasting, permanent finish. Non-woven fabric at 190gsm with a smooth matte surface. Apply paste to the wall, hang the panel, trim if needed.

A good choice for full room makeovers and anyone wanting a finish that's built to stay. Best on smooth, dry walls. Not recommended for bathrooms or humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.

PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Pre-Pasted

The middle ground between traditional and peel and stick. You get a permanent finish without the paste. The adhesive is already on the paper, activated with a damp roller or sponge.

At 300gsm it has a fine embossed texture and a premium matte feel. Repositionable while the adhesive is still wet, and suitable for bathrooms and moderately humid spaces. Not suitable for heavily textured walls.

PVC-free, GreenGuard certified, printed with UV inks.

Measure your walls carefully

Colours and pattern flow depend on getting this right, so it's worth taking your time.

• Measure height from skirting board to ceiling, or wherever you want the wallpaper to end.
• Measure the width of each wall you plan to cover.
• Use the tallest height measurement across the whole project.
• Include doors, windows, and architectural features so the pattern runs correctly around them.
• Take several measurements along each wall. Ceilings and floors are often uneven.

Read the full guide here.

Order the right amount

• Multiply your wall area by the coverage per roll to estimate how many you need.
• Choose one roll size and stick with it throughout the project for consistent pattern matching.
• Round up and order all rolls at once. Same batch means the closest colour match across panels.
• Not sure? Just message me and I'll help you work it out.

Order a sample first

Screens and room lighting both affect how colours read. A sample is the simplest way to check colour, scale, and finish in your own space before committing.

Colour customisation

If the design is almost right but the colour isn't quite there, just ask. I can adjust the palette to match your paint colour, existing décor, or anything else you're working with.

Pattern scale

I can also adjust the scale of a pattern to suit your space, larger, smaller, or as shown. For more significant design edits, a small design fee may apply, but I'll always be upfront about that before anything is confirmed.

Either way, you'll receive a digital preview to approve before your order is placed. No surprises.

How to request

Use the customisation request form to send me your colour or scale preferences. I'll come back to you with a preview and confirm any costs if relevant. Once you're happy, we'll get your order processed.
